Check out the story I wrote for Frontiers Newsmagazine’s web site about Marjorie Christoffersen, the embattled manager at El Coyote. She will no longer serve as a manager and is stepping down from El Coyote’s board.
Stepping down as manager and not serving on the Board? That’s beside the point. The real question is, has she sold her ownership interest in the restuarant? Until she does that, I won’t be supporting the restaurant.
The whole point of the boycott like this isn’t to have certain employees and managers step down as a symbolic measure. It’s to stop LGBT $$$ from lining the pockets of those who use it to contribute to causes that seek to remove our rights.
Hurray. Another life destroyed!!! Who’s life shall we all take down next?!!?!? But why isn’t all this hate mongering making me happy??
Good thing that she stepped down. As a straight female who voted no, I’m glad that she’s not working there anymore. But will I be going back? Doubtful. Too many other choices, including angelini across the street. Glad she did the semi right thing, but I think that El Cayote’s days are numbered, and reasonably, their food sucks and they haven’t been making it better to go to their establishment versus another… Sometimes your 15 mins in the spotlight isn’t good news…
Remember fighting hate with hate doesn’t help us any…I’m also doubtful her stepping down has really accomplished anything…we should really spend more time educating and opening the general public’s eyes to why our cause is their cause and why this really matters…so we got a manager to step down…where does that fit in in the bigger picture though?
Come on the food is soooooo bad. We all just went for the big dresses and chemical margeritas. Fot Ted Bear, this is not hate, this is doing the right thing. The LGBT comunity built that that dump, and it’s not okay to just throw us under the bus and I don’t care if was $5.00 it’s not the point, this woman pissed on us as a people.
